The Tyrone Guthrie
Centre |
The Tyrone Guthrie Centre is in County Monaghan, north-west of Dublin, near the border. It was opened in 1981 as Ireland's first residential arts centre. Writers and visual artists from all over the world come here to work. Each year, the Australia Council funds the visit of one or two Australian writers and the Centre provides a vibrant atmosphere where you can work in solitude but also make links with photographers, visual artists, illustrators, sculptors, novelists, screenplay writers and other poets. While I was there I met many fine artists from all over the world and shared ideas and inspirations with many of them. You can find out more about the centre HERE Below: Me walking near the Centre.
